New Door Creative
New Door Creative is aligned with the mission to broaden the exposure of prominent and emerging artists who explore an aesthetic informed by a wealth of perception, culture, and tradition. As a platform to share experiences and critically examine intersections of culture, New Door Creative has featured exhibitions that engage concepts ranging from volume and space to gentrification.
The gallery has exhibited artists from around the globe, and is proud to have highlighted many women artists of color. Painters Aziza Gibson-Hunter, Sheila Crider, Joyce Wellman, Cheryl Edwards, Judy Tallwing, Valerie Maynard, Aquaetta Williams, and enamelist Helen Elliott have celebrated solo exhibitions at New Door.
Other featured artists include Afri-Cobra artists James Phillips and Adger Cowans, mixed media portrait artist Morgan Monceaux; and legendary artists Faith Ringgold, Richard Mayhew, and the late David C. Driskell.
